The Media Center Tax

Thomas Hawk points out a discussion about the “Media Center Tax”.  The basic point is this:  if you haven’t invested in a good MCE system, then you can still get access to television content but you’ll have to pay an extra tax for it.

Personally I worry about these download services, I don’t think they’ll catch on until they can completely replace the cable tv subscription I’m paying now.  But for the time being it’s just an extra cost and another justification to disallow me from using the cable TV content I’ve already paid for.
